“Alex appeared in 1985 in a DeLorean. Rubik’s Cube in one hand and WHAM tape in the other. It wasn’t said aloud at the time, but the world changed that night.” - Someone
For the first 16 years of his life, Alex had one dream… to be a rockstar! The multi-purpose halls of suburbia would bear witness to his writing evolution from cliché rhymes to ever-so-slightly less cliché rhymes.
It would soon emerge that being a rockstar with a 10 o’clock bedtime and a science project due in the morning was somewhat incompatible. Alex reluctantly capped his writing pen, and, in ceremonial fashion, closed his writing pad. It would be years before either would appear again…
…20 years to be precise…
Now grown-up with a career and a family, on a frequent trip to the loft, Alex happened upon his old song writing book, (the pen had long dried up) and it re-ignited the metaphorical flames of his craft.
In the months and years that followed, his style took an elegant turn from songs about the angst of youth, to stories of bunnies and foxes in varying degrees of mishap.
The local music community rejoiced, as did the child that pretends to be a grown-up called Alex.
